Mar 09. Riboflavin Testing is now fully traceable with the use of Digital Media Technology
Access to verify Riboflavin coverage of any large vessel has always been difficult. Vessel entry restictions and the high risk of damage to highly polished surfaces has always been problematic. Kells now have easy access to all vessel areas using our digital camera system, without the need for vessel entry. Real time coverage information can either be viewed, photographed or video recorded for verification using PC based software.

Oct 08 and 4 × 50,000lt Double Containment Underground Solvent Storage Tanks are completed and delivered on schedule.
Specifically designed for underground storage, these vessels are fitted with a second outer skin designed to contain product should the inner shell fail. Also included in the design is additional stiffening for buoyancy brackets to prevent the underground vessels from lifting should flooding of the concrete bund occur.

Sept 08 and a pair of 250,000lt Silos are delivered on schedule
At 4.5m diameter & 18.5m high, these pair of silos are close to the largest units transportable by road. Complete with duel side entry mixers and full access ladders and handrails, they weigh in at approximately 13.5 Tons each. Fabrication was completed external to our main workshop as the overall silo height was too tall for our 12m high bay.

August 08 and Mechanical Polishing of 50,000lt WFI Vessel is completed.
Weighing in at 12 tons and over 4.0m diameter, this 50,000lt WFI Vessel is one of the largest vessels to be Mechanically polished on our Farrous Blatter Automatic Polisher.
Polished to a <0.5umRa finish and using almost 50grit belts, the straight shell alone took almost 2 weeks to complete. Surface finish was constantly monitored and recorded using our Calibrated Diamond tipped Profilometer.

July 08 and Kells deliver a set of 180,000lt Storage Silos on schedule.
Silos were designed and contructed generally to an API code with the aid of Finite Element Analysis to assess the impact of agitation on the vessel structure. Special Vessel carriers were used for the transportation of the extra wide load to site and Kells provided offloading and installation supervision

On June 19th 1988 Kells Stainless Ltd opened its doors for business and this year, celebrate 20 years in operation.
Although on a newly purchased 5 acre site and with a new name, Kells Stainless personnel already had 18 years of Stainless Steel fabrication experience gained from working with Bailie Engineering; a Stainless tank fabrication company which was based in Bailieborough Co Cavan.
Founded by key personnel from the former Bailie Eng facility and using plant and equipment purchased from the Engineering site, Kells Stainless hit the ground running and immediately became a major player in the growing Stainless Steel Vessel manufacturing industry.
Key to Kells success over the years has been their ability to predict changes in industry trends and to implement internal changes within the organisation to meet every new challenge. These challenges have required substantial investment in personnel, premises, plant and technology and this has kept Kells ahead of their competitors and they continue to lead the way in having strong industry recognition of quality product and performance.
Flexibility to manufacture Tanks, Vessels and Modular Skid Assemblies for a wide range of industries from Chemical, Food & Beverage to Pharmaceutical and Biotech, has meant that Kells has been able to build up long term working relationships with its clients and customers all over the world.
Kells has a 40% export market that is supported by a Sales and Design office based in the UK and have recently exhibited at Interphex Asia in Singapore, with a view to growing their worldwide market, especially within the Pharmaceutical & Bio Tech sectors.
Recent investment in state of the art fabrication equipment and a new 1,000sqm clean Factory Acceptance Test facility, paves the way for future growth in Kells, and provides them with the ability to meet specific customer requirements and to copper fasten Kells Stainless as a complete Process Engineering Solutions provider.
Interphex Asia on 2nd & 3rd of June in Singapore, proved to be a huge success with both new and existing customers attending Kells Stainless stand at the convention.

New 5,000sq meter Clean FAT Facility now close to completion with full calibrated utility services such as DI Water and Clean Air.
Testing facilities include Hydrostatic, Riboflavin, Functional Operation, Drainability, Noise, Vibration, Push-Pull Tests.

Positive Material Identification (PMI) with the Innov-X Series Alloy Analyser, uses latest technology to give the ultimate in material identification and traceability.
PMI not only verifies material test reports but it is instant and accurate and operates a PDA of for data transfer.
Not only useful within our manufacturing facility, Kells also offer on site PMI for companies who wish to obtain traceability on piping and equipment whose material identification may be lost. Kells personnel can carry out detailed site surveys to document and record materials in complete process systems.
Material traceability and movement are key to all equipment. Kells new PVS (Parts Verification System) was developed in-house to meet the rigorous demands of materials control.
PVS provides the following :
Full Traceability back to supplier
Provides accurate / live stocktaking information (Qty/€)
Warns of minimum stock levels
Generates material listings for all equipment and collates the associated
